Kevin McClatchy: Using the arts to support autistic and military communities across Ohio

This past autumn, The Ohio State University Artist Laureate Kevin McClatchy brought his enriching Shakespeare and Autism Project to six locations across the state to help members of the autism community explore communication, express themselves and build social skills.

2024 Guggenheim Fellows include 3 from Ohio State

Abby Zbikowski, associate professor in the Department of Dance, Gina Osterloh, associate professor in the Department of Art, and Ryan Johnson, post-MFA Fellow in the Department of Dance, have received 2024 Guggenheim Fellowships.

"Radical Accounting" visualizations featured at Whitney Museum

Ohio State Associate Professor of Dance Harmony Bench and collaborator Kate Elswit, Professor of Performance and Technology at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (University of London), were commissioned by the Whitney Museum of American Art to produce the Radical Accounting series of historical dance data visualizations as part of the Edges of Ailey exhibition, which opened in September 2024 and will run through February 2025.

Yinka Ilori visits Ohio State

Renowned British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori visited Ohio State's Department of Design in early November as part of the Office of Academic Affairs’ Visiting Artist Program.

PhD dance student Sidra Bell featured in new exhibit at the Met

Dancer and choreographer Sidra Bell, who is pursuing a PhD from The Ohio State University, was recently commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to create a work for a major exhibition.

Billy Ireland exhibit of Edward Koren’s work featured in New Yorker

This winter, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum (BICLM) opened an exhibition of the work of Edward Koren (1934-2023), whose cartoons ran in The New Yorker for over fifty years. During that period, Koren drew over 1,100 panels for the magazine and became one of its most beloved contributors.
