While essential to large urban centers, these networks impose political, economic, and environmental pressures on rural communities, which in turn rely on them for their existence. The exhibition explores this question through a collection of drawings that document life in the small town and, without imposing solutions, reimagine the present, projecting onto the future of the countryside. Micropolitan America seeks to spark cross–regional discourse, lifting stereotypes and celebrating the small town as a cell of community action.
