127af is an architectural practice based in Paris, founded in 2020 by Deborah Feldman and Baptiste Potier. The firm focuses on contemporary forms of habitation. Employing a multiscalar and multidisciplinary approach, 127af undertakes projects ranging from furniture and object design to urban studies.
The two partners pursue complementary activities that contribute to the dynamism of the practice.
Baptiste operates a locksmith and carpentry workshop, where the office experiments with and prototypes construction details at a 1:1 scale. His background includes studies in art and architectural history at the École du Louvre, followed by formal training in architecture.
Deborah Feldman is a PhD candidate in anthropology and architecture at Paris Nanterre University. Her research examines the transformation of domesticity through a multi-sited ethnography of new forms of dwelling and shared intimacy fostered by the digital economy, such as Airbnb-rented apartments and coliving buildings. In parallel with her research, she teaches at the Paris-Est School of Architecture, where she leads a first-year design studio.
This event is part of the Spring 2026 Baumer Lecture Series.
The Baumer Lecture Series invites prominent researchers and practitioners of architecture, landscape architecture, and city and regional planning to present their work and to engage subjects both topical and enduring.
