AD—WO

Jen Wood (Melbourne, Australia) and Emanuel Admassu (Adis Ababa, Ethiopia) founded the art and architecture firm AD—WO in 2015. Although based in New York, the studio has done projects in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Germany, Italy and other locations around the globe. A recipient of the Architectural League of New York’s 2024 Emerging Voices Award, AD—WO is committed to unsettling the conventions of architecture through experimentation with practices of opacity, occlusion and abstraction, paying special attention to nonwestern concepts and sites.
