The ancient earthworks of present-day Ohio, created by Native American cultures for thousands of years, reflect deep spiritual, scientific, and artistic purpose. While some have recently gained global recognition, many more persist unrecognized in the contemporary landscape.
Recent technology, ranging from lidar surveys to online archives, makes it possible to convey these sites while making sure they remain undisturbed.
This exhibit showcases twenty representative sites using detailed maps, models, and factsheets within a unique tactile table design. It highlights both the cultural significance of these earthworks and the urgency of preserving them.
