Spring 2006 Arts Alumni Event
Join the College of the Arts Alumni Group on Thursday, May 11, 2006 for an alumni dessert reception during intermission of The Cradle Will Rock at Drake Performance Center, 1849 Cannon Dr on the OSU campus.
The performance begins at 8 pm.
The Cradle Will Rock, by Marc Blitzstein, is a high-energy musical that’s being presented as a collaboration with our Department of Theatre and School of Music. First performed in the 1930s, the show has been called a host of contradictions – naughty, thoughtful, abrasive and funny – centering on Steeltown Jail on the eve of the Steelworkers Union rally.
Directed by Karen Coe Miller, The Cradle Will Rock will fill Drake’s Roy Bowen Theatre with live music and a large cast of students from Theatre and Music. The alumni reception takes place during intermission in the South Study Lounge—a glassed-in room directly across from the lobby entrance to Roy Bowen Theatre, overlooking the river.
