| OSU Opera Updates The OSU School of Music’s opera and instrumental areas collaborate with the Department of Dance on The Magic Flute, composed in 1791 by Mozart with libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. Directed by Peter Kozma. Music Director is Marshall Haddock. Sung in English. Fri January 25 – Sun January 27, 2008 Tickets $20 reserved seating;

Mozart’s delightful and much-loved opera, The Magic Flute, gets a fresh new look and modern setting when Ohio State’s opera program performs it Friday, Jan 25, through Sunday, Jan 27. Directed by faculty member Peter Kozma—whose production last year of The Elixir of Love garnered rave reviews—the opera will boast a cast of 30 students, a unique urban set design, multimedia and video elements, and live orchestra. It will be performed at 8 pm Jan 25 and 26, and at 3 pm Jan 27 in Thurber Theatre, Drake Performance Center, 1849 Cannon Dr. on campus.
