One of the oldest musical groups on campus and always an audience favorite.  OSU Percussion Ensemble Monday, November 24 8:00 pm Weigel Auditorium 1866 College Rd. This concert follows their performance at the Percussive Arts Society’s international meeting in Austin, Texas.  OSU Wind Symphony Tuesday, December 2, 8:00 pm Weigel Auditorium 1866 College Rd. Through its performances, commissions of new work, and CDs, this ensemble is recognized as one of the elite wind bands in the country.  Chocolate, Dance, & Conversation Resident and Visiting Artists at OSUdance Wednesday, December 3, 8:00 pm Thursday, December 4, 8:00 pm Sullivant Theatre, Sullivant Hall 1813 N. High St. A casual evening in cabaret style with four premieres, including a solo piece choreographed by John Giffin and Megan Durham’s Guitar Heroes, with live music by guitarist/composer Clifton Hyde.

High St. This popular annual concert, a musical tour de force, showcases all the school’s major performing groups (bands, orchestra, glee clubs, jazz ensemble), unique smaller ensembles, and much more in a fast-paced “collage” setting.  January 2009 Arts Events Preview: Thurber’s Dogs Saturday, January 10–11, 2009 5:30 pm Sunday, January 11, 2009 7:00 pm Southern Theatre 21 E. Main St. A collaboration among our Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, and Thurber House for a performance of composer Peter Schickele’s Thurber’s Dogs, with animation of Thurber’s dog illustrations by ACCAD. www.promusicacolumbus.org |
