An Evening with
Robert Redford
Monday, May 2, 2005

The Ohio State University College of the Arts is honored to welcome Robert Redford — prominent actor, director and producer; environmental activist; and brilliant entrepreneur — to campus as a Barnett Distinguished Visiting Lecturer.

Redford—a celebrated actor known for roles in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Way We Were and All the President’s Men, and an accomplished director and producer— established a ranch and Sundance ski resort on 7,000 acres of lush Utah property. Over the years, this venture has grown into an international enterprise that includes a cable television channel, DVD/video company, retail catalog, resort and, at its core, a not-for-profit institute that produces the annual Sundance Film Festival.

While at Ohio State on Monday, May 2, Redford will present an afternoon workshop, engaging in an open panel discussion for invited students in the College of the Arts. He will address topics related to the business and entrepreneurial side of the arts and entertainment industry.

That evening, the public is invited to a forum with Redford in the Wexner Center’s Mershon Auditorium, where he and a moderator will discuss Redford’s career as an artist and entrepreneur, with film clips and photos from his various endeavors.
