OSU Theatre Stages
The Rocky Horror Show

Brad and Janet, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. . . and the whole creepy crew from “Transsexual-Transylvania” will converge on the stage of Columbus’ Southern Theatre in November to present the cult-classic play The Rocky Horror Show. Popularized on stage and screen, this OSU Theatre production celebrates the 30th anniversary of Richard O’Brien’s risqué but beloved musical.

The Rocky Horror Show, directed by Mandy Fox, will invite the audience to enter the “Time Warp” and enjoy an evening of fun downtown with OSU Theatre undergraduate and graduate students performing. Audience members who remember the words are even invited to dress up, leave their manners at the door and belt out the tunes during the show’s final performance on Tues, Nov 22.

The production is part of OSU College of the Arts’ “Arts Downtown” initiative and is presented by CAPA. Explains Mark Shanda, chair, Department of Theatre, “The department is thrilled to be part of the continued efforts by the college to bring the arts downtown. We are partnering with CAPA; without their support, this production would not be possible.”

“We are excited to experience the wonderful ambiance of the Southern Theatre,” says Shanda. “This production gives our students the opportunity of ‘touring’ a show and of working with a union crew. Students will also face outstanding costume and scenery challenges. And. . . it’s going to be just plain fun.”
