Professor Conable is principal cellist for the OSU Chamber Orchestra and
the Eisenstadter Sommerakademie in Austria. He is former principal cellist
of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and of orchestras in Youngstown, Springfield
and Dayton. He also is former conductor of orchestras and opera throughout
Ohio, and is a member of the Cipriani Trio and Coronado Quartet. Professor
Conable is co-author of HOW TO LEARN THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE and is developer
of the concept of body-mapping, a major contribution to the Alexander
Technique. President of the Alexander Workshops Inc., Professor Conable
has taught the technique in Europe, Japan, Taiwan, and throughout the
United States. He serves on the editorial board of the AMERICAN STRING
TEACHER, and is the editor of 4 Sonatas by Giacobbo Cerbetto Cervetto,
published by Barenreiter Verlag, and of cello ensemble music published
by Latham Music Enterprises.
