Under his direction, the Albion College Wind Ensemble achieved critical acclaim for performances across the country and in Canada, including appearances for the College Band Directors National Association and the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association. During his ten years on the Albion Faculty, Mr. Blatti was twice selected the outstanding Faculty Member of the Year, and was awarded two grants in support of his research on rehearsal techniques and conducting pedagogy.

An avid proponent of the community band movement, Professor Blatti was named the Conductor Laureate of the Heisey Wind Ensemble in 2003, a well-established adult community band affiliated with Denison University, for whom he served as Music Director for seven years. Blatti co-founded the Albion, Michigan, Community Band in 1980 and has conducted similar organizations in Michigan, Illinois, Manitoba, Ontario, North Dakota, and Ohio. In addition, he has been invited to guest conduct and teach at numerous university campuses, school music programs, and summer camps throughout the United States and Canada.
