Stephanie Bernhardt has been Curator of the Visual Resources Library in
the Department of History of Art since June 2000. Prior to this she was
interim Assistant Curator and the Assistant Curator for the same facility.
She is the Chief Administrator of one of the largest Visual Resources
collections in the country, containing over half a million analog and
digital images serving departments across the College of the Arts, as
well as the entire University. Stephanie’s interests include the
continuation and expansion of learning enhancement through the departmentally
developed project OSIRIS (Online Student Instructional Review Site) and
future distance learning projects. The VRL has worked with the Web Media
Collective, in the college of humanities, to develop an online digital
database of images to enhance teaching throughout the university. In 2003,
this project was nominated by Microsoft for The Computerworld Honors Program
and a finalist in the area of Media, Arts & Entertainment. Professional
memberships include ARLIS/NA, the Visual Resources Association, and the
Great Lakes Chapter of the Visual Resources Association.
