Dr. Carlson teaches graduate courses in computer animation and visualization.
He also is a professor in the Department
of Design, with joint appointments in Art, Art Education, and Computer
and Information Science. He has overseen research grants from such diverse
sources as NASA, the National Science Foundation, Harvard University,
the U.S. Department of Education and other industries and foundations.
Widely published in computer graphics journals, Professor Carlson has
been nominated for three Clio awards. His honors include those from the
International Film and TV Festival of New York and the Broadcast Promotion
and Marketing Executives.
