Professor Arnold teaches courses in contemporary art for the Department
of Art Education. He is the author of numerous articles on contemporary
art and art education and has lectured on these subjects throughout the
United States. His paintings have been shown in 15 one-man exhibitions
and more than 200 group exhibitions. Professor Arnold was acting associate
dean of the College of the Arts from 1986 to 1987, acting dean of the
College of the Arts in 1987 to 1988, and associate dean of the College
of the Arts from 1988 to 1990. He also served as associate provost for
instruction and curriculum at Ohio State from 1990 to 1994 and vice provost
for academic program support from 1994 to 1996. From 1996 to 1997, he
was vice provost for undergraduate studies where his responsibilities
included curriculum, instruction, evaluation of teaching, and faculty
workload.
