Areas of Expertise
• Painting
Professor Crockett's paintings record deliberate acts; they are tracings
of what has been made, unmade, and remade, and present a topography that
hovers between the threshhold of meaning and the destruction of meaning.
He has received individual artist fellowships from The Greater Columbus
Arts Council, Dresden Reidency 2000, Ohio Arts Council and the National
Endowment for the Arts. One-person exhibitions of Crockett's include Zaks
Gallery, Chicago, 2004; Cline Gallery, Ashland OR 2005; Gallery WIJK,
Holland, 2001; Barth Galleries, Columbus, OH, 2000. His work also has
recently been shown in group exhibitions, including Color, Ohio Wesleyan
University Gallery, Delaware, OH, 2000; Ohio Artists at Roosevelt House,
US Ambassador's Residence, New Delhi, India, 1998-2000. He also has exhibited
his work in exhibitions in Cleveland, Dayton, San Francisco, Oregon, Iowa,
West Virginia and Texas.
