Graduation
Preparing
for Graduation
When you reach senior standing (Rank 4 = 135 earned
hours), you should make appointments to see your ART counselor and your
major/minor advisor(s) to make sure that you are on track for graduation.
They will help you to plan the remainder of your academic programs to ensure
that you will complete all required coursework and the hours needed for
graduation. You will want to stay in close contact with these individuals
up through your quarter of graduation.
You should file your Graduation Application 3 quarters prior to the quarter
in which you plan to graduate. You do this with your College of the Arts
in 050 Denney Hall. When you come to file your graduation application,
you will need to bring the most updated copies of your signed minor program
forms (if necessary) and a completed graduation application available
in 050 Denney. If you have any petitions through your department, make
sure that the approval process is complete and that the signed copies
are forwarded to 050 Denney Hall.
During your quarter of graduation, you will want to make sure that your
instructors know that you are a graduating senior, so that you can arrange
to take your finals early. If you will be attending the graduation ceremony,
you should also arrange to rent or buy a cap and gown at one of the bookstores.
You will receive a graduation brochure from the College of the Arts by
the eighth week during the quarter of your graduation. If you are not
attending the ceremony, you must inform the college office prior to the
7th week of the quarter of your graduation. |
